The Texas Society of Genetic Counselors was approved by the National Society of Genetic Counselors as a State Chapter in December of 2007. By adopting TSGC as a state chapter, our national organization is recognizing that our mutual purposes and objective are complementary and consistent.
It provides a platform for shared information and fosters positive and constructive discourse in important matters affecting the profession. It presents a “collective voice” for the genetic counseling profession in Texas. This interaction creates positive attitudes toward the profession and this positive awareness carries over to meet the needs of consumers of genetic counseling services and their families.
